About the event
Please Don’t Die Black Men (PDDBM) invites the community to participate in the 2026 Black History Month Fashion Show Model Casting Call, a multi-day casting experience celebrating youth creativity, cultural pride, and collective responsibility.
This fashion show centers student designers and honors Black history through the lens of Ujamaa, the principle of cooperative economics and community support. Models of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend and support our youth designers as they prepare for one of PDDBM’s most impactful annual events.
As part of the casting process, student designers will be actively involved in measuring all models, with guidance and supervision from their fashion design teacher. This hands-on experience is an essential part of the students’ learning process, teaching them professional measurement techniques, garment planning, and real-world fashion industry skills.
