Start-to-Finish Short Film Program
This program provides equity to middle and high schoolers by allowing them to work as a group to create and execute all parts of a short film including writing the script, casting, shooting the film, and editing the movie. By the end of this program, students should be listed on IMDb with their finished and edited short film. This program runs throughout the entire school year from August to June. Students are able to reenter the program each year. Each year students complete the program, they receive a small stipend. The film the students completed together as a whole is shown to the public for a full week.

Empowering Youth through Journalism
At PDDBM, we believe in empowering youth by giving them a voice through journalism. Our PROUD magazine is a platform that provides young people with the skills they need to succeed in marketing, journalism, and more. Fashioning the Future: Empowering Young Designers Through Fashion
Our Fashion Design Program is one of the ways that we at PDDBM are committed to empowering and inspiring the next generation. We offer students an opportunity to express their creativity and learn valuable skills in fashion design. Our program provides students with the tools and resources they need to create their own unique and individual designs. All designs are celebrated during our PDDBM Black History Month Fashion Show, allowing students to showcase their creativity and hard work to the community.

STEAM Scholarship Program
At PDDBM, we believe that education is key to unlocking a bright future and is a fundamental right. We offer the STEAM Scholarship Program to provide students with opportunities they might not have access to otherwise. Our goal is to empower students to become leaders in STEAM fields. We are committed to providing education and equity by offering scholarships and classes with STEAM opportunities for students who face systemic and/or financial obstacles. We invite all qualifying students to apply for our program and discover the benefits of STEAM education.

Journey Home: Exploring the Roots of Our Ancestors
At PDDBM, we encourage middle and high schoolers to discover their true identity by traveling to the Motherland. Our trips follow the Kwanzaa Principle of Nia, meaning purpose, which is to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness. Our trips provide a safe and culturally immersive, transformative, educational, and empowering experience for students, letting them explore their heritage, build connections, and develop a sense of purpose.
