Save the date! Please Don’t Die Black Men (PDDBM) will hold its 2027 Black History Month Fashion Show on Saturday, February 13, 2027. The location will be announced at a later date.
February 13 is especially meaningful because it is:
Black Love Day
PDDBM’s birthday
The date of our 2027 Black History Month Fashion Show

In response to the limited representation of Black artists at the 2026 Vancouver Arts and Music Festival, PDDBM is also planning its first Black art exhibit as part of the fashion show. This exhibit will intentionally center African, African American and Black artists while giving community members an opportunity to view, celebrate and purchase Black art.
We anticipate selecting approximately 10 to 20 pieces for this first exhibit because of available space. Participating artists will be able to submit information about their artwork, including its sale price. Artwork dimensions, submission requirements, deadlines and other details will be announced later. African, African American and Black artists should begin preparing now for an opportunity to showcase their work!
PDDBM is also seeking African, African American and Black community members to serve on the art selection committee and as jurors. The selection committee will help determine which pieces are featured, while jurors will evaluate the selected works. To protect the fairness and integrity of the process, selection committee members and jurors may not submit their own artwork for consideration in the exhibit.

We also encourage African, African American, and Black artists to keep the 2027 Vancouver Arts and Music Festival in mind. Watch for its next call for artists and vendors, and apply when applications open.
