PDDBM has released an official statement regarding concerns, questions, and clarifications surrounding the 2026 PDDBM Black History Month Fashion Show.
Transparency, accountability, youth empowerment, and community growth remain important to us. While there were challenges surrounding the event, we believe it is important to openly address what happened, clarify misinformation, explain our procedures and grant requirements, and acknowledge the areas where improvements are needed moving forward.
Our programs were created to uplift, educate, empower, and create real-world opportunities for youth through fashion, journalism, film, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. We remain committed to improving our processes while continuing to build opportunities for students in our community.
The full official statement is attached below.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support PDDBM, our students, and our mission.
